The Samsung Lions of professional baseball performed a ceremony to confirm the second place in front of a packed home crowd of 24,000. They erased all magic numbers to secure tickets for the playoff.

This marks the first time in three years that Samsung has returned to the postseason stage since 2021. Samsung, which had 77 wins, 61 losses and two draws this season, finishes the regular season by ranking second even if it loses all of its remaining games.

Won Tae-in, the ace of blue blood, took the mound as Samsung's starting pitcher. During six innings, Won threw 100 pitches, allowing five hits, allowing one run and striking out five, and securing his 15th win (six losses) this season.

Starting with Kim Tae-jin's hit after two outs in the top of the ninth inning, Kiwoom had a chance to load the bases thanks to defensive errors and walks. At that time, Kim Hye-sung's two-run timely hit, Choi Joo-hwan's one-run timely hit, and Kim Gun-hee's three-run home run hit chased Samsung to the bottom of his chin.
